Re: twonky 7.3 and webstream

you would normally just add the item to playist file, I usually use .wpl (windows play list for stuff like this) be aware that the client "must" also be able to decode the stream, not all streams are the same BUT... according to the release notes for 7.3, the answer is that it cant Playlis...

Re: Transcode ALAC to AAC

I used '/opt/bin' as a reference, as I am not actually sure where optware installs ffmpeg
as it might also be '/opt/sbin' or elswhere

you might have to also modify the path to include /opt/bin and /opt/sbin
take a look at this thread on the path stuff

In a nutshell, we need ffmpeg or other to do the transcoding here are the steps that would be needed to make it work once you have ffmpeg installed 1. a transcoder is needed, usually ffmpeg 2. a ffmpeg.location file for the transcoder location in the twonky cgi-bin folder - this is just a text file ...

the other issue you are most likely to run into, is that each time the router is rebooted
or when then usb drive is removed and out back in, the game starts again
the idea of an all in one device is great, IF they put enough ram and a powerful cpu in it, but they don't do that

If I had to guess, I would say that it is more likely that the cpu and ram on the router can not handle it
that is a very large library, I cant think of a single soho router that could handle it
you would be best suited to use a dedicated more powerful nas device or a pc
