Help playing AVI files with Twonky on a Panasonic Viera TV

I have TwonkyServer 6.0.38 for linux and a Panasonic Viera TV that is DLNA Certified. I have many large (>4GB) AVI files created with gorecord from my Plextor ConvertX but the TV cannot play the format. I've tried transcoding to mpg using Acidrip and Avidmux with little success. After transcoding to mpg the fastforward, pause, and rewind do not work, the video stalls and I have to exit DLNA of my tv and reenter. My question is can Twonky send my TV video file information (I think the AVI extension is used by the tv to see if it can play the file) that the tv can recognize as a format it can play and then can Twonky transcode to the playable format? I have mpeg2 checked on the video transcoding option but I still have no luck. The avi video container seems to be the problem. Can twonkie repackage the video to mpg container?
