Locked out of config page
I've put a username and password in my twonky server config page and now I'm locked out! How can I reset or undo this?

Hi Brixton,
The username and password for Twonky is saved in the twonkymedia-server.ini file. In Windows and Mac OS the twonkymedia-server.ini file is present in the hidden files.
As you have not mentioned the OS details so I am giving generic information for all operating systems.
In windows this file is usually present at :-
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\twonkymedia
or C:\Application data\twonkymedia\
In Linux path is:-
/var/twonkymedia/twonkymedia directory.
In Mac the location is:-
User/username/Library/Application Support/ twonkymedia
In this TwonkyMedia folder the twonkymedia-server.ini file is present. Open the file (in text editor or notepad) and remove the values of the accessuser and accesspassword, Save changes. Now restart the TwonkyServer , it will not prompt for password .

I can't get in to configure Twonkyserver and enter my key. It will not accept my username and password.

Hi, I do not have access to http://127.0.0.1:9000/#sharing because I lost my login data. How to get in?

Hi Dirk,
From a quick search, it looks like the 'Application Data' directory concept in Win 7 maps to the following:
\Users\\AppData\Roaming
See if you find the twonkymedia folder at that location. Thanks -

I'm having a similar issue with the Twonky media server software that shipped pre-installed with my QNAP file server. After turning up uPNP, I go to the Twonky configuration page, and it asks me for credentials. I never set up credentials for Twonky, and admin credentials for the file server are rejected.
What the heck? -

1Hi,
There is one more way to resolve this issue. We can remove user name and password from Twonky configuration page by using rpc commands.
We can open Twonky configuration page by typing:-
http://ip-address-of-your-Server/NAS:... or http://127.0.0.1:9000/config
The step by step information to remove username and password is given below:-
1. Open web browser and type:- http://127.0.0.1:9000/rpc/set_option?...=
Here the complete command ends as set_option?accessuser=
(this will remove username from config page). Enter complete rpc command and hit enter. Close web browser.
2. Now again open web browser and type the rpc command:-
http://127.0.0.1:9000/rpc/set_option?...=
Here the complete command ends as set_option?accesspwd= .
hit enter and close this web browser.
3. After resetting options we can open Twonky configuration page:-
http://127.0.0.1:9000/config
It will not prompt for any user name and password.
Note:- Make sure there are no multiple Twonky settings tab open while using rpc command. If multiple tabs are opened then it might not take rpc command.
Try this and let us know the updated status.

I have checked this in my Windows 7 Ultimate system with 32- bit. Make sure that you have enabled to show hidden files and folders.
Go to Computer, click on Tools tab, select Folder options, click on View tab and select to Show hidden files, folders and drives.
The location of twonkyserver.ini file for Twonky 7.0.5 Special is :
C:\ProgramData\TwonkyServer
In TwonkyServer folder location there will be file named twonkyserver with file type Configuration Settings.
Open this file and remove values for accessuser= and accesspwd. Save changes to the file and check if it resolves this issue. -

This problem with not being able to access the configuration page happened
to me as well.
I uninstalled with Revo Uninstaller pro, which scans for leftover files.
The ini file was one of them so I just deleted it from Revo interface.
After reinstalling Twonkyserver 7 and going back into the config page
I noticed the option to secure access to the page with a user and password.
I did add that in the first time thinking I needed to so I can make changes.
This time I left it alone and that was all there was to it. (Done)
However, I don't know why it did not accept the login info I created the first time.
Love this program, Don't know why their discontinuing it, its great. -

I had the same problem.Affter creating username and pasword i was locked out of the config page. Solved it with the information on this forum thread. Just opened the twonky ini file as discribed and i can login again ... But what is the safety of a username and password when it's so simply to bypass ??? I'm glad for this support easily found ... NOT very glad at all that that it's finally so simple to bypass my safety guards ...
