Hi Christoph,
There might be two reasons for this issue. Either Twonky is not sending correct image resolution or wrong profile is selected for WD device in Twonky.
1. Check if this issue is happening on the JPEG photos of any particular resolution. Mention the details.
2. Go to the Media receiver tab of Twonky Server and find the ip address of WD TV Live , check which profile is assigned to it. If wrong profile is shown then manually change the media receiver type and save changes. Now try to access shared photos and check if it works fine.
In case if the issue continues then please mention the image resolution of shared photos that are not getting displayed correctly.

Hi there,
I guess i'm pretty much having the same problem. I've got alot of pictures on my NAS, TS459proII, resolution approx 5000*4000. Using media player on laptop or computer works fine, foto's show perfectly in the app for iPad and iPhone. Using mediaplayer on Samsung C8700 works just fine. Now I bought myself the new Samsung D8000 and someway or the other it's showing pictures on screen in a resolution of 160*120??
Tried pretty much everything to come up with a solution, but no luck so far. Twonky automatically identifies both mentioned tv's and puts them on advanced media view, so no differences there. Anyone ideas?

Hello Twonky,
Another one bites the dust...
Would you, please, be so kind to help with a kind of the same problem, which I have been faced with Linksys E4200 v.1 router with Twonky Media Server build in and connected by DLNA to TV set Panasonic 32DT30. The TV set can recognize Twonky Media Server of the router and can see the list of pictures on a usb flash drive put in the router. The problem is that all the photos are shown in 120x160 resolution regardless of their initial resolution (1600x1200 or higher). Using various usb flash drives (Transcend JetFlash T3S or something) and photos from other cameras did not help.
At the same time the photos are shown in correct resolution on my net book connected by DLNA to the router with the same usb flash drive.
If the usb flash drive connected directly to usb of TV, all the photos are shown in initial resolution with help of Panasonic Media Server with no problem.
On-line technical support team from Cisco could not help. They tested E4200 v.1 router with their Samsung 6500 and could not spot any flaw.
I would highly appreciate that if you could help to solve the problem. I like Cisco router and I like as your Media Server works from the other points of view.
Thank you!
With my very Best regards,

Hello
I think that I have the same problem as the post above. The piece of equipment that has the resolution issue is a sony bdp-bx58 blu ray player. I also have the linsys E4200v.1 with Twonky Media Server.
I just purchased the router so I have not yet contacted cisco but plan to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
So, I have some more analysis on this problem, as I am facing it now too. Equipment:
- QNAP 419p+ with latest firmware so Twonky 6.x (The old firmware ran 5.x - more on that later)
- Samsung D7000 TV
- Samsung Android phone (more on this later)
So with Twonky version 5.x and the Samsung TV profile set, the high res photos from my DSLR used to show up fine.
With Twonky 6.x I am getting the same problem as mentioned above, with very low res; 120x160, although it plays lower res photos from my point and shoot camera OK.
So I did some testing. I used Samsung AllShare on my phone to try to view the photos, same behaviour as with the TV; photos showing in low res, (although I didn't spend time to set the profile of the phone in Twonky etc...).
Now the AllShare application lets you pick a photos from one device, and play on another. So I selected the high res pictures from the QNAP and rather than playing them on the phone, I selected the TV as the output. The high res photos rendered just fine!
I am deducing by this, that the AllShare entry for the device profile of the TV is correct, and allowed the photos to display properly. I guess all there is to do now, is to find the correct device profile for our TV's and then somehow modify the list in embedded Twonky.
Any ideas?
Best regards,

The problem is that all the photos are shown in 120x160 resolution regardless of their initial resolution (1600x1200 or higher)
wd tv live
twonky manager 3.0.328
twonky server 7.0.5
router cisco
p.s. On twonky menager 2.9 such problems weren't. All worked. -

I'm having the same problem - unable to see higher-resolution photos on my Sony Blu-Ray madia player. Lover resolution pictures work fine but higher ones only show the thumbnail.
Using QNAP 219P+
Sony BDP-S480 blu-ray player
Twonky Media version 6.0.39 -

If your photos aren’t shown in correct resolution through Twonky then you can try the below mentioned change.
1. Navigate on your PC or NAS to locate the clients.db file. In Windows PC you can find it here: C:\Program Files\TwonkyMedia\resources\clients.db
2. Before editing the original file make a copy of that clients.db file and store it outside of the TwonkyMedia folder.
3. Open the clients.db file using notepad or text editor. ( You might have to rename clients.db file to clients.txt file ).
4. Search for “WD ”. (If you are using any other device/player then look for the device entry according to the profile selected as Media receiver type for that device.)
5. Edit the line that begins with “TR:” so that “JPEG 160x160” is changed to “JPEG_HD”.
NA:WD TV HD Live Media Player
DD:WD TV HD Live
XM:DLNA15
XM:TV4IDS
DB:FIX
XM:NOEMBEDDEDALBUMART
TR:JPEG160x160,JPEG1920x1080
Modify this line as:-
TR:JPEG_HD, JPEG1920x1080
DF:devicedescription-wd-live.xml
This is an example for WD TV live, similarly we can edit the client.db file for other media receiver types. -

Thanks Kiran - done this and I now get the larger resolution photos showing fine on my Sony blu-ray player.
The only slight problem is that I no longer get the thumbnails showing when showing a folder (i.e. before selecting the photo to display) - I assume that in changing the configuration I have now removed that aspect. Is there a way to correct this please?
