dns-323 and a LOT of twonky processess

Postby cvanoosbree » Thu Jan 07, 2010 9:11 am

hi all,

i had 4.4.11-20090108 (yes, i paid for this old version last year or so) working and then i decided to do an upgrade to see what features (if any) i could take advantage of.

well, how that curiousity of mine completely went out of whack.

today i installed TMS 5.1.2 and it installed fine. i made some changes (eg, media folder locations) but then realized it wasnt saving the information. decided to reboot and now im seeing this when i telnet into my box

why is there so much twonky processing? i tried to uninstall and re-install my old version, but i get the installer says there is not enough space and it looks like it aborts. about 1 minute later, it says that it installed fine, . when i check the config page, its the newer version with no saved data.

can someone tell me how to uninstall this version or fix this processing hog?

both my HD lights are now amber and i cant even get into the standard 323 config page due to process overload
help please

thanks

Hi,

You can't use just default installation on DNS-323, but you should:

1.) install TMS by setup program but disable automatic start option after installation (this option is available on setup program screen)
2.) logon to DNS-323 via telnet/ssh and modify twonky startup script /mnt/HD_a2/starttwonky.sh and add option "-appdata" and specify new target path for twonky data dir to be somewhere on /mnt/HD_a2/<dir>, eg. I use:

/mnt/HD_a2/twonky/twonkymedia -appdata /mnt/HD_a2/twonkydata

3.) start it by executing starttwonky.sh script.
