Sony Blu-Ray Players - Sony_Blu-Ray_Player.xml update needed

Postby dannywill » Sat Sep 01, 2012 1:10 pm

Hi,

The devicedb file for Sony Blu-Ray Player (Sony_Blu-Ray_Player.xml) is in need of updating.
Many file formats do not play correctly on this device (For reference I have tested on a EU BDP-S370)

The current file contents are shown below:

********************************************************************************
<Client>
<DeviceId>
<DisplayName>Sony Blu-Ray Player</DisplayName>
<HttpRecognition>
<HttpText>Blu-ray Disc Player</HttpText>
</HttpRecognition>
<MappingUpdatePolicy>AUTO</MappingUpdatePolicy>
</DeviceId>
<Adaptations>
<DLNA>
<Version>DLNA15</Version>
</DLNA>
</Adaptations>
<DeviceQuirks>
<Quirk>ADDITIONAL_MPEG_RES</Quirk>
</DeviceQuirks>
</Client>

********************************************************************************

All files I have tested do however work when using Serviio.
Below is the Sony BP Player section of Serviio profiles.xml

********************************************************************************

I do not have the technical ability to force Twonky to behave like Serviio when serving this device.
But I hope that somebody reading this has?

Thank you in advance to anybody who can offer any help / advise on this issue.

I suspect the Servio is transcoding your files. Please provide me with a few specific examples of codec and file extension combinations which are not working. Make sure these files are listed as a supported format with your device.
